Fundamental 2

X-ray and CBCT analysis: the measurement skill at the center of the technique.

  • ✓Measure the misalignment on your X-rays with precision
  • ✓Measure CBCT studies and use them to verify what you see on X-ray
  • ✓Account for each patient’s own anatomy, including genetic anomalies
  • ✓Turn your measurements into a patient-specific correction vector

Where You Are

Your images only help if you can read them precisely

You take the X-rays, maybe a CBCT too, and measuring them is where the doubt creeps in. A genetic anomaly throws off the analysis, or you’re coming from another technique and the AdvO approach still feels unfamiliar.

Analysis is the hardest skill to learn on your own, and CBCT adds a third dimension that calls for a different way of thinking. Without a clear method and people to check your work, it’s easy to stay unsure.

How We Help

X-ray and CBCT analysis, worked through on real cases

Fundamental 2 is taught live on Zoom in the Monthly Huddle, on the second Tuesday of each month from February through May at 9:00 pm Eastern.

You get a clear, step-by-step method for measuring the sagittal, axial, frontal and horizontal X-rays with the analysis software, including how to account for genetic anomalies, and for turning the measurements into the correction vector. Bring your own cases, and the instructors and doctors in the Huddle check your work with you.

We also teach CBCT analysis: how to measure a CBCT study to our standards, and how to use it to verify what you’re seeing on X-ray. This is where much of the newest work in the technique is happening, and the doctors in the Huddle help us refine it as it develops.

What You Gain

Why doctors take Fundamental 2

Be Part of What’s Next

CBCT analysis is the area of the technique that’s actively changing. You learn our current standards and help refine them alongside the doctors moving the work forward.

Measure, Don’t Guess

Learn a defined way to measure each X-ray and CBCT study against the patient’s own normal.

Real Patient Cases

Work through actual X-rays and CBCT studies, not idealized textbook examples.

From Numbers to a Vector

See how the measurements become a patient-specific correction vector.

The Plan

Three steps to get going

STEP 01

Become a Member

The Monthly Huddle is part of AOI membership, $799 a year.

STEP 02

RSVP and Join on Zoom

Second Tuesdays, February through May, at 9:00 pm Eastern. Every session is recorded, so you can watch it again whenever it suits you.

STEP 03

Get Hands-On

Attend an AdvO Intensive to practice what you’ve learned with instructors at your side.

Fit Check

Is Fundamental 2 right for you?

A strong fit if you are

✓Coming from Fundamental 1, or already comfortable with the exam and X-ray setup
✓An upper cervical doctor who wants to learn our repeatable analysis
✓Using CBCT, or thinking about it, and want a method for measuring it
✓Planning to work toward Level 1 Certification

Maybe not the best fit if

–You want hands-on training; the Zoom sessions don’t include it, but the AdvO Intensive does
–You’re not ready to join yet; start with the free Intro to AdvO course
Curriculum

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this in person?

No. Fundamental 2 is taught live on Zoom in the Monthly Huddle. The Zoom sessions don’t include hands-on training; the AdvO Intensive covers that.

Who can attend?

AOI members. The Monthly Huddle is part of membership, which is $799 a year.

Do you teach CBCT analysis?

Yes. X-ray analysis is still taught in full, and we also teach how to measure CBCT studies to our standards and use them to verify what you see on X-ray. CBCT is the area of the technique we’re actively updating, so the method keeps improving with input from the doctors in these sessions.

Do I need a CBCT machine?

No. X-ray analysis is the core of the course, and CBCT is taught alongside it.

What time are the sessions?

9:00 pm Eastern (8:00 pm Central, 7:00 pm Mountain, 6:00 pm Pacific) on the second Tuesday of each month, February through May.

What if I can’t start at the beginning?

Each part builds on the last, but members can join the Monthly Huddle in any month.

What if I miss a session?

Every session is recorded, and members can watch the recordings whenever it’s convenient.

Does it count toward certification?

Yes. The full Fundamentals Series together with Bootcamp is one of the pathways to Level 1 Certification.
